About Centru (Central)

Centru is Cluj-Napoca's walkable historic core: the grand Piața Unirii, the Gothic St. Michael's Church (with Romania's tallest church tower), the old-town streets around Strada Matei Corvin and Piața Muzeului, plus the national theatre, art museum and a dense restaurant-and-nightlife scene (Cluj is the UNTOLD festival city). For investors, Centru is a short-stay/STR and premium-capital-growth play: the city's top prices (~€3,270–4,330/m²) with gross yields of ~3.4–5%. Non-EU buyers own apartments freely (land via a Romanian company); EU buyers are unrestricted; Romania uses the leu (RON) and has no active golden visa, with short-let rules tightening from 2026.
