Laureles

Laureles (Comuna 11) is a flat, tree-lined, grid-and-circle district celebrated for its mid-century urban design, frequently named among the world’s coolest neighbourhoods. Its rare-for-Medellín walkability puts parks, bakeries and cafés within a short stroll. It has become the favoured authentic alternative to El Poblado for families, expats and nomads, with the La 70 (Carrera 70) salsa-and-nightlife strip, two central parks and a deep café culture, all without El Poblado’s markup. For investors Laureles offers higher rental yields than El Poblado on a more local, long-term-tenant base, though it is also now squarely within Colombia’s tightening short-term-rental enforcement, and each building’s bylaws govern whether short-lets are allowed.
