Nizwa Souq and Fort Area

The souq and fort area is the soul of Nizwa. The 17th-century fort, the largest in the Arabian Peninsula, looms over a walkable old town where the souq still trades silver khanjars, spices, pottery and, every Friday, livestock, much as it has for centuries. Date-palm falaj plantations ring the historic core, and heritage guesthouses cater to a steady stream of visitors. For investors this is a heritage and tourism play, not a housing market.
